AN INVESTIGATION OF THE ANTIMICROBIAL EFFICACY OF ROBERT SCOTT’S MICROFIBRE PRODUCTS

The following report is an investigation carried out by Robert Scott Ltd to test the effectiveness of both performance and hygiene of their Microfibre products. The trials were carried out by an independant testing facility.

Various lab tests were carried out on The Robert Scott Microfibre products, concentrating on removal of pathogenic micro-organisms commonly found in UK Hospitals and comparing performance with Ultra Microfibre products from Johnson Diversey, Ecolab and Vermop. The test results fully support our claims that our Microfibre products perform equally as effectively as alternative leading brands in the market. Indeed, it is statistically impossible to improve on the performance of the Robert Scott Product.

Robert Scott Ltd market a range of Microfibre products intended as environmental cleaning solutions.

The testing was conducted using an independent laboratory and the findings are from these tests. In this testing we have conducted laboratory analyses to demonstrate the efficiences of the Robert Scott range of products in the removal of micro-organisms from non porous surfaces. Additionally we have performed measurements which compare the Robert Scott range with equivalent brands of competitor products.

These efficiencies have been measured by employing a test system which comprised of a range of organisms dispersed in an organic matrix, deposited on to the surface of Polyacetate surfaces. The organic matrix was inoculated with organisms prior to deposition.

Performance studies followed where in the difference in numbers of organisms recoverable from test surfaces were compared before and after treatments with each of the products.

By expressing this performance in terms percentage and Log reduction of surface contamination we have been able to demonstrate the functionality of all the products examined.
